Are you seeing double yet? The other day I posted an article about two, Selmer Mark VI baritone saxophones. Well, now I have the pleasure of writing about two, yes, 2, lovely Olds trombones we have here on consignment.
Both of these bones are in fantastic condition, and if you're a lover of vintage trombones--and vintage Olds trombones in particular--these two beauties will have you sitting up and taking notice.
1. Olds Super tenor trombone # 223XX (circa 1947)
This horn has not been played for a number of years. Despite that, the octagonal slide moves effortlessly. There is no sign of previous slide damage.
This trombone will get a once-over before it leaves the shop. It really is due for a through cleaning, which we will provide to the new owner at a reduced rate.
It comes complete with:
- Original case in fair condition
- Original Olds 3 MP
And features:
- Tone Control Band
- Duo-Octagonal slide
2. Olds Recording tenor trombone # 608XXX (circa 1967)
This horn too has not been played for a few years. It is in remarkable condition, and shows no signs of previous damage or repairs. The octagonal slide moves effortlessly, and there is no sign of previous slide damage.
This trombone will get a once-over before it leaves the shop. It really is due for a through cleaning, which we will provide to the new owner at a reduced rate.
It comes complete with:
- Original case in very good condition
And features:
- An 8" bell
- Bell material of "Re-O-loy" (an alloy created by Olds)
- A richly engraved bell
- Fluted inside tubes that are chromium plated, and feature the Olds Duo-Octagonal slide action
Since neither of these lovely horns has been thoroughly gone over, we have not yet determined a final selling price. They are currently in the work queue.
